Gas

I hate paying for unleaded basic 87 gas. Giving 'Big Oil' my money just irritates me. I can justify $9.50 a person to go see The Day After Tomorrow even though I know the money is going to another 'Big' ... the MPAA.

Am I going to stop going to see movies on opening weekend? Probably not ...

Am I going to stop driving my car ? No. Where I am, walking distances, car pooling and public transportation is at best, mediocre.

However, am I going to drastically REDUCE the number of miles I drive? You're damn right, I am.

$2.149 a gallon? Bah. Not worth it.

Yes, I know that $2.149 is inexpensive compared to what Europe pays. So? This isn't Europe.

Yes, I know reduction is a meager alternative to buying a hybrid or seeking out and investing in alternate fuels. However, I don't have time or $$$ for those other options right now ... what I can do ... right this very moment ... is stop driving so damn much. Consolidate trips, car pool a little and hopefully prevent one extra dime from reaching some 'Big Oil' executive.
