At least he admits it ....

You see George, we all knew you could do it. We think it was great that you admitted what you did. Good boy. *pat* *pat* *pat*

The G.R. Kerry Rally

Until yesterday, I had never been to a political rally. I had never vehemently supported a candidate rather, I simply reviewed the issues and the candidates platform and cast my vote.

Not this year.

Not only will I review the issues and cast my vote ... but I will actively persuade others to do the same. This is the second presidential election I have been eligible to cast a vote in and I am going to support John Kerry and John Edwards... as should you.

The rally in G.R. was in some estimates 20,000 to 25,000 stong ... the largest political rally in the history of G.R. And being that G.R. and West Michigan are notoriously conservative ... a democratic rally of that size is a big deal. Amy and I are not the screaming, yelling, chanting, sign waving type of people. We found seats in the bleachers with a great view of the stage and relaxed for 1.5 hours before the Kerry's took the stage. Oh, and did I mention it was hot as hell?

Some parts of John Kerry's speech in G.R. I had heard previously however, his points and his ideas still stood strong. It was a good feeling to listen to an intelligible non-scandal/non-fear-inducing political speech again ... it has been almost five or six years.

More important then anything Kerry said in regards to Iraq or terror were his ideas for education and health care. The difference between the Kerry ideas and the Bush ideas is, well ... Kerry has some.

Bush has polarized this nation and this World ... he is already a lame duck. I believe Kerry is a leader ... a uniter ... and will bring back virtue, respect and integrity to our White House and the name of our nation. Vote Kerry.

Uh, somewhere someone at sometime ... maybe.

Maybe I am being a bit sinical, but the terror warning system with happy-fun-colors is useless!!

In NYC and DC we just went to orange again because somewhere, someone is going to attack something at some time ... maybe ... or so we think ... perhaps. F*ck that.

This perpetual state of fear is BULLSHIT.

My government is trying to 'warn' me that there MIGHT be an attack. Yeah, great ... thanks bunches. I will run and get my duct tape right now. In fact, why don't I just stay in my home and never go to work again. That way I will be safe ... well, kind of maybe.

Oh no, wait ... Tom Ridge is telling me I should go to work ... well HOT DAMN I am going to get right on that!
