The Philip Continues

|

Well, life continues as it is wont to do. I'm part of test of a different support model at work and that's going really well. I'm a huge fan, and I think that by the end of it everyone is going to have a hard time denying that it's a better way to do business. This team to which I'm attached seems to do really well; I'd like to stay with them but there are some of those "If the moon is in the seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars..." things that could make it so I have to go to another team.

Since this support model test is lasting 6-9 months, I suppose I could try to really bust my ass and have a shot at moving into Backbone Engineering when this is done. But really - who do I think I'm kidding?

The weather is once again starting to cool down and I always enjoy it. It reminds me of ACTUAL fall back in Michigan. I think one of the things I miss the most about real fall is the smell of the leaves. We have some leaves that fall in Texas, but...not really. They don't cover the ground, they don't make the same sound, and on and on. I may have to start wearing pants again soon. Just to clarify my last sentence, I currently wear shorts - I'm not parading around in my boxers.

We finally convinced AT&T to give us control of our reverse DNS (and since we have less than a /24 they really shouldn't have) and now it's a matter of getting an in-addr.arpa zone that BIND likes. For some reason it's telling me I have no NS records or SOA.

Well, I should be getting to bed (which is preceded of course by MST3K).
