After some fiddling, I fixed the CSS to do what I want in Safari.
(I had to add float:right; to the #links section). I should probably read about CSS so I know what I've actually done, but it looks right in Safari, Mozilla, and in IE now. Therefore I am happy and don't have to mess with it. (Actually, the search bar looks kind of bad in IE and Mozilla because the button is drawn too close to the entry blank, but I'm not going to worry about it now).
