"Goober" apparently thinks I'm a retard and a moron because I wanted Gentoo to 'just work'.
While it's sometimes fun to play around with a different OS or different distribution, over time I've gotten more and more impatient with things that don't 'just work' they way they should without lots of extra effort.
I didn't realize that my blog would be on any silly Gentoo-fanboy's radar though. (There really are only ~ 6 people who read it anyway ;-) ).
It's kind of funny (especially since it looks like 'Goober' posted from work).

Who knew you could inspire such animosity. I'm impressed if Goober had a clue what you were talking about. 99% of the time you're over my head. I mean WAY over.
Bah, I'm full of random geekery since I can't manage to actually write anything interesting (unlike your blog of course).
I throw random geek crap out there on occasion because it might help someone out if they are trying to do the same thing (after google indexes the entry, of course).
The preponderance of good geeky problem solving I've done based on data from people's weblogs was one of the factors that contributed to me bothering to set up a weblog system on geeklair.net in the first place.
I did manage to figure out you were doing the world a service. I'm glad somebody thinks the drivel I've been posting is remotely interesting.

I was thinking briefly of trying to install Gentoo. Then I decided that I had better things to do with my time. Like train my cats to do the Lindy Hop.

Good lord that's funny! Gentoo fans HAVE to rabid, since they've tied up so much time with their installs/tweaks/configs, but this guy...
Good learing experience but I'll take a binary distro anyday as I have things to do other than read gentoo forums 24x7. ;^)
