Does this look like the face of a man who would drive 5 minutes to see a pelican?
Did you get any pictures of the pelicans? I'd like to see them, too, being similarly disinterested in all things avian.

It was more like 10 minutes. Guess I'm officially a birder. No pictures, though. This shot was PhotoBooth on my laptop. Not something I can use (easily, anyway) to photograph moving/distant birds. They are cool birds. Watching them is very much like watching a kite. They're about the same size, with a similar appearance of "heft." The pouch doesn't hang, like it does in the movies. Very cool when 4-bird "formation" flies over, and they skim the water surface like Gulls wish they could.
